Forget retirement schemes, she’s building a face yoga empire at 66…
As a family court attorney, Jeanne specialized in child custody and adoption cases, (neglect and abuse cases), advocating for the children (as well as their respondent parents) in the face of conflict and heartbreak.
It was her world, her purpose.
But it was starting to get a bit too much…
Years of dealing with intense emotions and working with broken families was taking its toll.
Even though she LOVED reuniting families, when this wasn’t possible in some cases, it would break her spirit in more ways than one.
It was getting harder to shake off the sadness she saw every day. And as retirement came close, she was already feeling the void.
Helping those in need has shaped her and given her life meaning. It had always been her calling. She was fortunate enough to do what she loved for more than 30 years.
But now, with retirement this close, she couldn’t imagine who she’d be, stripped of the identity that had defined her for so long…
So, Jeanne sent out to find a new purpose that brought the same amount of fulfillment, minus the pain and heartbreak that she had to deal with in court every single day.
Then, fate took an unexpected turn.
One fine afternoon, Jeanne stumbled upon the Face Yoga Method (FYM) Boot Camp for eye bag removal. And she saw incredible results with just one class!
But more than the physical shift, she found herself drawn to the positivity that radiated through her mind, body and spirit.
What really hit her was when Tina [a FYM coach] shared, “Do you know that there are so many people who have never even caressed their own face…”
Suddenly, that inner voice roared like never before. This was her big AHA moment.
“That’s HALF of my clientele”, she thought to herself. This one moment changed her life forever!
Having witnessed raw pain in the courtroom, she now wanted to bring smiles to people’s faces.
If face yoga could light up someone’s face and lift their spirits like it had hers, she was SO ready for it.
And then began her incredible journey of becoming a Certified Face Yoga Teacher, to do what she does best – changing lives for the better.
This former family court lawyer, with hiking boots as worn out as her legal briefs, now found her thrills in the gentle art of transforming, not just faces, but hearts through face yoga.
She started volunteering. A group of women (and even a few men) who shared her dreams of making a REAL difference in others’ lives became her new face yoga squad.
In seminars, even the toughest guys couldn’t hold back their grins as they tried out face yoga.
But the most POWERFUL moment wasn’t in any class or seminar; it happened quietly one afternoon with Jeanne‘s mother-in-law, who had been going through a tough time.
Jeanne stepped in and helped her do a few poses to relax and unwind.
She felt INSTANT relief, and her eyes had a sparkle Jeanne hadn’t seen in quite some time.
In that moment, she knew she had found her true purpose.
You see, this isn’t just about face yoga. It’s about connecting with yourself and others, finding shared moments of joy and healing in more ways than one.
If you are seeking the same sense of fulfillment and joy, it might be worth giving face yoga a try.
